Hey folks, I’m writing this on my iPhone from my bed. I tested positive the other day for Covid, which knocked me on my ass for most of this week. Thankfully, I’m fully vaccinated, and I’m starting to feel better — but that means I haven’t been able to put together this week's issue. I’m so sorry. Next week I’ll be back on schedule with a new issue.
In the meantime — I don’t want to leave you empty-handed — so here are some interesting things I came across this week while lying in bed:
—
Found in Daniel Benneworth-Gray’s excellent Meanwhile newsletter: I love these 3D architectural renderings of brutalist-style buildings by Clemens Gritl.
—
An informative documentary on the making of Super Mario World, the launch of the Super Nintendo, and how the game perfected the concepts of the Super Mario series.
—
Ghost is a lovely humanist sans-serif typeface consisting of 5 weights.
—
Check out this blog with tons of photos of cool-looking vintage computer hardware.
—
I’ve been looking for a well-made super minimal pen, and I found the Pen Type-B — but damn, is it expensive.
