Book Tour: Basic Typography

Hey folks, hope you're all well and that you're enjoying the newsletter and member benefits. Thank you again for supporting me and the content I'm creating. It means a lot, and I appreciate it.

Over this past weekend, I filmed the first design book tour, and I'm excited for you to see it. I plan to create a video tour of each vintage design book from my personal collection. Most of these books are rare, so this is a great way to share their contents with all of you. I find these books to be an excellent source of inspiration, and in making these videos, I hope they can also inspire you.

The first book up is one of my favorites. Basic Typography was written by Ruedi Rüegg and Gödi Frohlich, with an introduction from Josef Müller-Brockmann and Paul Rand. The book is a favorite because it gives a comprehensive overview of the typographic process that existed in the 70s. It covers production techniques, type elements and principles, typesetting, and application.
